This week the fourth grade:
- Read Stone Fox to model and practice the journal process for Book Clubs
- Reviewed Topic 3 and took the unit test
- Finished Unit 3 in social studies
- Began a new social studies unit: The Southeast
- Published our first writing project: A School Story
- Identified compound subjects and predicates
- Corrected fragments and run on sentences to make compound sentences
- Differentiated between different ecosystems and discuss the organisms that live in those areas
- Discussed the difference between habitats, communities, and populations in an ecosystem
- Begin Topic 4 in Math, addition and subtraction review
- Experiment with characteristics of an ecosystem to see how changes in the environment affect the organisms that live there
- Identify adaptations animals have to help them survive in their environments
- Review sentence structure, subjects and predicates
- Begin reading Book Club assignments and writing daily journals
- Continue publishing our school stories using the Macbooks
- Identify geographical features of the Southeast region
- Create a book highlighting important information about the Southeast region
- Meet our preschool buddies!
