- Finished Topic 12 in math
- Finished reading our class novels
- Made our book club selections to prepare for 4th quarter book clubs
- Completed our state narrative writing projects
- Created a PowerPoint slide for our 50 States Fair presentation
- Took a field trip to Jefferson City!
- Took a test over weathering, erosion, and deposition on Tuesday
- Began learning about the different types of rocks and minerals
- Practiced test taking tips for our ERB tests next week
- Take ERB tests in the morning (see below note)
- Students should get plenty of rest, arrive to school on time, and eat a healthy breakfast!
- Review Topic 12 in math for a test on Wednesday, April 20th
- Begin 4th Quarter Book Clubs
- Illustrate our state narrative writing projects
- Vote on how to categorize our states for our presentations at the State Fair. Some suggestions at our brainstorming session include by: size, population, date of statehood, climate, time zone, number of presidents from the state, natural resources, and alphabetical order
- Begin rehearsing our State Fair presentations individually
- Students should also begin practicing their speeches at home! A copy will go home next week.
- Record a stop motion film for the 50 States Fair
- Students will be asked to bring in small objects or 2-D images that represent their state for this film by Wednesday!
- Begin learning about rocks and minerals
- Perform a variety of tests on mineral samples to identify them
- Review parts of speech and practice classifying parts of sentences
- Monday 4/11-Thursday 4/14: ERB Testing
- Friday, 4/15: Book Clubs, 12:30-1:00
- Tuesday, 4/19: Math Club, 7:30 am in Mrs. Stephenson's classroom
- Wednesday, 4/20: Topic 12 Math Test
- Thursday, 4/21: Noon Dismissal for Professional Development
- Friday, 4/22: Book Clubs, 12:30-1:00
- Wednesday, 4/27: Science Club, 7:30 am in Mrs. Van Maren's classroom
- Friday, 4/29: Grandparents Day activities, Book Clubs from 12:30-1:00
- Friday, 5/6: State Fair presentations
- An informational letter was sent home in Monday folders two weeks ago. We will also email parents with this information in case it didn't get to you!
