Fourth Grade Overview

Summer Homework Requirement for Incoming Fourth Graders:

Complete any of the multiplication and division math fact practice and games they have not completed on Reflex Learning. Teachers will print reports documenting the students' practice and will use this information as the child's first grade for first quarter. If your child completed the Reflex program, he or she now has access to a DreamBox account. Your child should use this account for math practice this summer.

Students are asked to read The Fabled Fourth Graders of Aesop Elementary by Candace Fleming. They should read the novel over the summer and be ready to take a quiz and participate in class discussions and projects in August.

In addition to the required novel, we encourage students to read at least 30 minutes per week. They should record their minutes on their reading calendar and turn in this calendar to their teacher the first week of school
