Tug O' War!

This week the fourth grade: 

• Created a standing cube project all about the water cycle
• Finished writing their story and created a picture book to share with their buddies
• Began reading The War with Grandpa
• Created a map of the land and water in the Southwest  
• Worked division word problems with remainders
• Celebrated their Spirit Award prize with a sports activity and pizza lunch on Friday!

Next week students will:

• Continue working on long division
• Learn about different types of clouds
• Read and discuss The War with Grandpa
• Study the products and natural resources of the Southwest
• Read their picture books to their preschool buddy

Upcoming dates:

Students are invited to bring a decorated pumpkin on Monday or Tuesday to display in our commons area!  Carved pumpkins can come to school on Wednesday!

All School Pencil Collection Project

October 25th – November 7th, 2012

Atem Akui is a current second grade student at St. Paul’s whose father is originally from Sudan, Africa. Since Atem was six years old, he has been collecting pencils and school supplies for the children of South Sudan when he learned that children there do not have any support for their education. 

Students in St. Paul’s School and St. Paul’s Church members are invited to donate to this worthy project in the next two weeks. This year Atem's goal is to collect 20,000 pencils!  Atem and his mother will be delivering the pencils to the children of South Sudan in December of this year.

We invite each St. Paul’s student and the family to help Atem reach his goal by bringing in new, unopened boxes or bags of pencils anytime between Wednesday, October 25th and Wednesday,  November 7th . Pencils can be placed in the large boxes found on each floor of the Lower School, in the blue tub at the greeting spot in ECC, and in the receptacle organized by MS on the third floor. We thank you for supporting the children of South Sudan and Atem Akui’s honorable mission!
