This week the fourth grade:
- Worked with fractions-comparing, adding and subtracting
- Took their electricity unit test
- Created and presented projects about the novel Number the Stars
- Took an adjectives test
- Began learning about synonyms and antonyms
- Continued researching and writing their state ABC book
Next week students will:
- Identify homophones and homographs
- Begin reading their third quarter book club novel
- See a performance of Number the Stars at the Coterie Theater
- Write valentines from a proton and electrons' perspective
- Experiment with electrical resistance
- Observe how bulbs work and make their own light bulbs
- Work with fractions, improper fractions, and mixed numbers
- Continue writing their state ABC book
Upcoming dates:
- Fri., 2/8 - Number the Stars performance at the Coterie, Book Club meeting 2:30
- Thurs., 2/14 - Valentine's Day! Parties to be held at 2:30-3:15 in homerooms
- Students may bring Valentines for their homerooms only. We ask that you do not write individual names on the Valentines to save time on distribution
- Fri., 2/15 - No School, Faculty in service
- Mon., 2/18 - No School, Presidents' Day
- Thurs., 2/21 - Science Club, 7:25 am
- Fri., 2/22 - Spirit Day, Book Club meeting 12:30
- Thurs., 2/28 - Math Club, 7:25 am
- Fri., 3/1 - Book Club meeting 12:30
The Fifty States Fair presentations will be Thursday, March 28th. More details will follow as it gets closer to the date.
The Jefferson City field trip has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 2nd. This is an all day field trip 7:15- 4:30) and we will need 4-6 parents to join us. If you are interested please let us know! Parents who attend with us will need to follow us in their own cars or carpool.

Find some great books to online so we can earn free books for our own classroom libraries, and have selections for students to choose free books when they fill out their punch cards.
