This week the fourth grade: 

• Identified rules for spelling plural nouns
• Continued reading and discussing The War with Grandpa
• Solved 3-digit by 1-digit multiplication problems 
• Identified products and natural resources of the Midwest
• Drafted supporting evidence for their pros and cons essay
• Received their Earthworks job assignments
• Identified types of clouds and their characteristics

Next week we will:

• Learn about possessive nouns and how to use apostrophes correctly
• Continue to read War with Grandpa
• Investigate the effects of mining on soil
• Go to Earthworks on Tuesday!
• Begin researching their Earthworks animal
• Make a map depicting the land, water, and natural resources of the Midwest using non-perishable foods and household items.  (Students need to bring the materials to class on Wed.)
• Study the climate of the Midwest region
• Draft their pros and cons essay
• Estimate products
