January 6-10

This week the fourth grade: 

• Started reading Number the Stars by Lois Lowry
• Studied tectonic plates in Earth's crust and how they move
• Discussed the causes and effects of earthquakes
• Learned strategies for multiplying two digit numbers
• Identified irregular verbs and spelled them correctly in sentences
• Began studying the Southwest Region
• Worked on "show don't tell" journal entries

Next week we will:

• Create a PuppetPals presentation over the Southwest Region
• Identify different types of volcanoes 
• Continue practicing two digit multiplication and wrap up Topic 7
• Identify contractions and the importance of subject verb agreement in sentences
• Practice descriptive writing
• Continue reading Number the Stars
