May 11 - 15
This week the fourth grade:
- Showcased some of our written work for the year in the Writing Fair
- Experimented with conductors and insulators
- Took a test over electricity
- Finished reading Sign of the Beaver (4S) and Walt Disney (4V)
- Identified adverbs in sentences
- Discussed the difference between good and well in sentences
- Reviewed the location and capitals of the 50 states in preparation for Monday's test
- Published our essays about our grandmothers and special friends
- Began a storybird.com narrative writing project
- Added and subtracted mixed numbers and fractions with unlike denominators
- Performed in our ROAD Rally for preschool-3rd grade and 3rd and 4th grade parents!
Next week we will:
- Review Topic 12 in preparation for a short quiz on Wednesday
- Complete an end of the year 4th grade memory book
- Take a test on the location of the 50 states and their capitals on Monday
- Create an experiment to test in class with circuits
- Write letters to the 3rd graders about 4th grade programs and make puzzles out of these letters
- Finish our final storybird.com narrative writing project
- Participate in 3rd -5th grade Field Day on Tuesday
- Attend 8th Grade Recognition Chapel on Wednesday
- Go on a Field Trip to Southmoreland Park on Thursday
- Distribute summer reading calendars and IXL summer skills packets

- Wednesday: 5/20: (Short) Topic 12 Math Quiz
- Tuesday, 5/19: Grades 3-5 Field Day and Lunch on the Field
- Thursday, 5/21: Last Day of School
