December 3-7

This week the fourth grade: 

• Completed their Cat Data Projects
• Interpreted graphs on IXL.com
• Observed the effects of gravity on different pieces of paper
• Learned all about friction
• Identified main and helping verbs in a sentence
• Created a PuppetPals Presentation over the Midwest Region
• Continued with their 2nd quarter book club reading

Next week students will:

• Learn about Isaac Newton's Laws of Motion
• Identify linking verbs in a sentence
• Find the factors and multiples for given numbers
• Define and identify prime and composite numbers
• Write equivalent fractions
• Review and take a test over the Midwest Region

• Mon. 1/6 - Classes Resume (Note: There is not a teacher inservice on this day, classes resume as normal on Monday.)
• Fri. 1/11 - End of Quarter 2

Other important information:

The lower school will be participating in a service project where we will collect items to create travel bags for the pantry.  Fourth graders have been asked to bring in travel size body lotions.  On the Friday before our Christmas break, we will work together to assemble these bags and take them to the pantry to distribute to people during the cold winter months.

Don't forget your child may bring in an ornament of their family to put on our Christmas tree in the commons area!

Students are also welcome to share musical offerings during morning chapels through the month of December.  They can sign up with Mrs. Watt.

Find some great books to online so we can earn free books for our own classroom libraries, and have selections for students to choose free books when they fill out their punch cards.
