February 23-27

This week the fourth grade: 
  • Finished Topic 9 in math and reviewed division concepts 
  • Discussed the importance of controlling erosion and identify ways people can prevent erosion
  • Demonstrated how glaciers erode land as they melt and move
  • Took a test over weathering, erosion and deposition
  • Began a unit all about adjectives
  • Identified and correctly used articles a, an, and the 
  • Finished 3rd quarter book clubs
  • Published our Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane writing projects
  • Found out the state that we will represent at the Annual 50 States Fair
  • Created a "stained glass" outline of our state
  • Began researching our states by first learning how to find credible websites
Next week we will:
  • Begin a unit all about rocks and minerals
  • Review proper adjectives and adjectives that come after linking verbs
  • Start working on long division
  • Create "What State Am I?" puzzles
  • Synthesize all the writing skills we have worked on this year to free write in our journals
  • Create acrostic classmate poems using descriptive adjectives
