This week the fourth grade:
- Began learning about different types of circuits
- Built a simple circuit using a battery, wire, and lightbulb
- Began reading Sign of the Beaver (4S) and Walt Disney (4V)
- Reviewed pronouns
- Discussed wordly wise words and their meanings
- Reviewed Topic 11 in math and took a test
- Began Topic 12: Adding and Subtracting Fractions and Mixed Numbers with like Denominators
- Turned in our State Float Projects (they look great!)
- Continued practicing our speeches
- Celebrated with our 50 States Fair
- Thank you for your support of and help with the 50 States Fair! We are so proud of the students' accomplishments with this unit of study.
- Subtract fractions with like denominators, add and subtract fractions on a number line, and study improper fractions and mixed numbers
- Complete an online tour of the Missouri government in preparation for our Jefferson City field trip
- Visit Jefferson City on Thursday!
- Review pronouns and take a test on Wednesday, 5/6
- Write essays nominating our grandmothers or special friends for a contest
- Continue reading Sign of the Beaver (4S) and Walt Disney (4V)
- Build a series and parallel circuit to see how they power lightbulbs differently
- Experiment with circuits by altering the amount of power and lightbulbs
- Participate in the Lower School book swap on Friday
- Thursday, 5/7: Jefferson City Field Trip!
- Friday, 5/8: LS Book Swap
- An informational flyer will be sent home in Monday folders
- Week of May 11: Grades 3-5 Writing Fair in 2nd Floor Commons
- Friday, 5/15: ROAD Rally in the gym at 10:15 A.M.
